Layang-Layang Island - Malaysia
Layang-Layang Island, known as Swallow Reef, is an uninhabited oceanic atoll of the Spratly Islands situated approximately 300 km northwest of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah Malaysia. It has a total land area of only 0.1 km² but an atoll over 7km long and 2km wide surrounds it. It lies in 2,000 m of ocean and has become famous for wall diving and sightings of large pelagic species like hammerhead and reef sharks, manta rays, tuna and barracuda. The eastern end of the atoll is home to thousands of migratory birds. .
