Leka Island - Norway

Leka Island lies off the northwest coast of Norway to the south of Bronnoysund. Since early times this has been a centre of pagan worship and ritual and features wonderful wild flowers such as bog asphodel , juniper and cloudberries. This is also the home to the eleven pairs of nesting sea eagles whose progeny were used to reintroduce these wonderful birds to the Scottish Isle of Rum.
